Periodontal Therapy:
With age one suffers from various problems relating to teeth and gum disease. As age progresses, due to poor oral hygiene, the health of the gums deteriorates and hence teeth start to get mobile. However with certain procedures, we can reverse this age related damage to you gums and tissue supporting the teeth and restore health to your teeth. Periodontal therapy includes an over all cleaning of all your teeth and in between teeth to dislodge all plaque and calculus, a deep cleaning where we clean below the teeth and deep into the gums to flush out bacteria causing gum disease. This also involves flap surgery in severe cases where by a minor surgical procedure, we reflect the gums, and clean the teeth all the way to the bone under direct vision, and flush the area with medicine followed by placing some bone graft to regenerate lost bone due to disease. This is known as periodontal flap surgery with or without bone graft.
